Mom
A poem by Galina Negruta
One beat, two beats, two hearts
You love me from the first moment
How do you feel what I feel
How much you understand the world in color.
You know how to rise from the dark abyss
You smile with your heart broken in half
You are an ageless ray of sunshine
You are spring in the hardest times.
You are the dawn, you are the dusk
You watch over me night and day
You are my idol, you are my gift
In the storm you stay by my side.
In the most fragile age I lose my calm
With friends I get lost in the time
You embrace my dreams, warm my chest
How unique are you Mom?
My tears are splinters in your heart
Wounds that time heals
Cold words, in silence you suffer.
How big is your love?
Your caress empowers me
It feeds me and protects me
Bitter tears, bear the pains
Courage flows, that you know you have.
Stand up again if you can
The years have decided for you
In your eyes I see a part of me
And the desire to live just for us.
Raise your head, put out this flame
You will never be alone in your goal
Raise your head, look up
Be proud, you are my Mom!
